Monsoon rains: One dead, two injured as tree falls on biker in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior

BHOPAL: A 28-year-old man was killed after a tree was uprooted and fell on a moving bike during heavy rain in Gwalior late on Monday night.The incident occurred around 11.00 pm in front of the 14th Battalion gate in Kampu. The deceased was identified as Nitin, also known as Golu Kanjolia, a resident of Balaji Vihar Colony. He was riding the bike when the tree collapsed and crushed him under its weight. Two other people nearby were also injured and have been admitted to JAH Hospital for treatment.Eyewitnesses said rescue efforts began immediately after the incident. The fire brigade and other emergency teams arrived shortly afterwards and managed to free those trapped under the fallen tree. Gwalior experienced intermittent rainfall throughout Monday, with heavy showers resuming around 10 pm. According to officials report, the old tree likely fell due to waterlogged ground and strong winds.
