Good Shepherd College in Bengaluru has announced a holiday on March 27, giving students the chance to watch L2: Empuraan in theaters. The management shared the news with a playful statement, “Lights, Camera, Holiday!” The decision reflects the chairman’s deep admiration for Mohanlal, making it a special tribute to the Malayalam superstar.

Taking it a step further, the college has organized a special screening exclusively for its students. The management has booked a 7 a.m. show at Movietime Cinemas, YGR Mall, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, providing free tickets. Sharing their excitement on social media, the institution stated,
“When passion and fandom unite, history is made! Our beloved MD, a devoted fan of Lalettan, has orchestrated a special screening of L2: Empuraan to honor the brilliance of Mohanlal and the visionary direction of Prithviraj Sukumaran. This is more than just a film—it’s a phenomenon!”

This kind of fan-driven celebration isn’t new. During the release of Rajinikanth’s Jailer in 2023, several companies in Chennai and Bengaluru gave employees a day off to watch the film on its premiere day, with some even offering free tickets.

Rajinikanth’s massive fan following sparked a similar wave of celebrations during Kabali’s release in 2016. Several colleges in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka declared a holiday on the opening day, anticipating student absences. Some institutions even arranged special screenings, turning the occasion into a festival-like event.
