Miley Cyrus Shines on 'Avatar' Soundtrack with Epic New Track 'Dream As One'!

Miley Cyrus has released her new single, “Dream As One,” a soaring and emotional ballad featured in director James Cameron’s highly anticipated sequel, Avatar: Fire and Ash. The song, which promises to bring big-screen drama to the film's end credits, was co-written by Cyrus, Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, and Simon Franglen, the film’s soundtrack composer.
Cyrus took to Twitter on Friday morning (November 14) to announce the song's release, sharing her deep personal connection to its creation. She stated, “Writing this song with Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt came straight from the heart. Every lyric remembers where we’ve been, reflects where we are, and holds hope for what’s ahead for all of us. It was an honor to create something so personal for a film that connects so deeply with people around the world.” This profound sentiment is evident from the song's opening lines: “Our love will never fade away/ We’re diamonds in the dark/ I put my head against your chest/ And listen to your heart,” she croons over a pulsing piano. The heart-tugging chorus, which Cyrus also co-produced with Wyatt and Ronson, powerfully declares: “Even through the pain/ Even through the ashes in the sky/ Baby when we dream, we dream as one.”
Last month, Cyrus revealed an even more intimate connection to the song’s themes in an Instagram post. “Having been personally affected by fire and being rebuilt from the ashes, this project holds profound meaning for me,” she explained, referencing the 2018 Woolsey Fire that destroyed her Malibu home. She expressed gratitude to Jim Cameron, stating, “Thank you, Jim, for the opportunity to turn that experience into musical medicine. The film’s themes of unity, healing, and love resonate deeply within my soul, and to be even a small star in the universe the Avatar family has created is truly a dream come true.”
Given the esteemed awards pedigree of her co-writers, “Dream As One” could position Cyrus for significant accolades next year. Andrew Wyatt and Mark Ronson are Academy Award and Grammy Award winners for Best Original Song, having received an Oscar and Grammy for “Shallow” from A Star Is Born in 2019, alongside Lady Gaga and Anthony Rossomando. They were also Oscar-nominated in 2024 for
