While the traditional wedding drew excitement and fanfare—with celebrities arriving in high-end SUVs and dressed in stylish outfits blending modern and cultural flair—it was YouTuber Oga Obinna’s grand entrance by helicopter that truly stole the spotlight.

However, the real drama unfolded as the chopper was taking off with the artiste onboard.

A daring local resident, later identified as Absalom Komando, shocked attendees when he clung to the helicopter’s landing gear as it ascended.

From the video that circulated online, the man held on as the chopper lifted into the air, prompting alarm among those present.

Fortunately, the pilot was alerted and made an emergency landing on a nearby farm to offload the man, who was immediately assisted by concerned locals.

The incident sparked widespread outrage online, with many Kenyans criticising the act as reckless and dangerous.

Many Kenyans called for the man’s immediate arrest for endangering his life and the lives of those aboard the helicopter.

Others criticised authorities for allowing people to stand dangerously close to the aircraft during takeoff, citing serious safety lapses and negligence.

Despite the backlash, Komando remained unapologetic, telling residents that he would have comfortably made the 65-minute flight to Nairobi had he not been forced to alight.

"I wanted to go to Mombasa because returning wouldn’t have been a problem—I can speak and walk. When to come back is not a problem because I know where my home is. People rarely see me; I usually ride donkeys. Today, I made history," he said, adding that the experience was exhilarating.
“Even my slippers did not fall. The air above the sky is sweet, and I barely felt the cold.”

Authorities have yet to confirm if any legal action will be taken, but the incident has raised concerns about lax security at high-profile public events.

In other news, Wuod Fibi clarified his absence from Prince Indah's traditional wedding, stating that attendance at such ceremonies is by invitation only.

He noted that he had sent a congratulatory message to Indah ahead of the event, which was acknowledged.

Fibi emphasised that there was no bad blood, adding that several other musicians who couldn't attend had also sent their support.
