Some might argue that the ’80s was the decade of bad hair, but there were bad movies too, note which actually defines both. Back in the days when low-budget movies were made on actual film, this holiday horror-themed gem made it to print. Moreover, it borrowed tropes popular at the time: a holiday, camping teens, a maniac in the woods, etc. etc.
Just read the logline: “Campers on a holiday are terrorized by an axe-wielding maniac.”
The only thing sharper than this killer’s axe are his crooked teeth.

It’s surprising that this film has an actual IMDb page. What’s even more surprising is that the actors and crew agreed to be listed on it.
Our search to find that perfect horror movie didn’t yield that many results, probably because it’s in extremely bad taste. But we found a movie with the word “memorial” in it. to be more specific. Just look at some of the trivia:
“The international version of the film, released under the title Son of Sleepaway Camp,’ includes hardcore pornographic inserts.”
“Retitled Son Of Sleepaway Camp for international home video re-release, this cut includes music cues from the 1983 film Sleepaway Camp.”
Wait, “pornographic inserts?!”
Director Robert Hughes went on to do television after this. His work includes episodes of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and V.R. Troopers.
There are probably lovers of this sort of “camp” somewhere in the world, and if you’re one of them we proudly bring to you Memorial Valley Massacre.
This is probably for hardcore fans of bad 80s horror movies so if you’re not one of them you might want to skip it. Or if your curious give it a go. We have it for you below:

Human remains, specifically a human leg bone was found near pop singer Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home on May 14. It was discovered on Everett Avenue in Westerly’s Watch Hill community, where the pop star owns a huge coastal mansion.
Investigators say the limb belonged to Kevin Poissant, a well-liked local man missing since March. The coroner’s report states there was no sign of foul play. There are no details on how the leg got there.
Online conjecture quickly jumped in on the report since Swift is such a high profile celebrity. They began rumors that the gruesome find was the result of a local serial killer. Additionally they pointed out that since March 13 there have been 13 sets of human remains found in the area. However the police reject that these cases are tied together.
“We understand the public’s concern, but there’s nothing to suggest these incidents are related,’ a spokesperson for the Westerly Police Department said. “The facts point to individual circumstances, and in Mr Poissant’s case, no criminal activity is suspected.”
Rhode Island Police bolster that the cases are not connected saying the public shouldn’t confuse patterns with coincidences.
Swift is also not affiliated with the incident. She wasn’t on the estate when the discovery was made by a civilian; she was abroad continuing her Eras Tour.

Star has returned to the woods, but it’s not a witch she’s running from this time, it’s the townsfolk.
Donahue lives in Freedom Maine, on . Like in her found footage movie, it’s a wooded area she likes to hike and snowshoe through from time to time. The problem is, residents who live on the land say it’s private property, and say she should stay off of it, especially Beaver Ridge Road itself.
Here’s the problem, Donahue was also on . Taking matters, and an old map into her hands she surveyed the land leaving bright orange spray painted marks on trees, apparently to mark the parts that are public and/or private.
The townspeople also think that the gravel road is public; the abutters, or property owners who share the land disagree. In fact, they were so displeased they issued a recall to have Donahue removed from the board. They were successful and the former actress’ final day was on April 23.
Some contend that it wasn’t just the spray paint, or the road itself that got her fired, but her attitude.
, a property owner that shares the land said she wasn’t pleasant to be around.
“I was relieved that the recall was successful. I thought Heather’s demeanor and behavior toward others was just unbecoming of a town official.”
Shortly after Donahue, originally from Pennsylvania, left acting. She fought an alcohol addiction, and got into marijuana farming. Freedom seems like a peaceful place with a population of only 700.
Further investigations into the Beaver Ridge Road will have to be put on hold. After Donahue’s exit along with another board member stepping down, the board is short-handed and are working on other things.
But Donahue, unlike in her famous film, loves the woods.
“I mean, this is where humans flourish,” she said about Freedom woods. “I’ve figured out a way to do a lot with very little. That was all kind of centered around being able to walk in the woods.”
Not everyone is despondent of her work. Bob Kanzler a former Freedom roads committee member said her investigation was important.
“Heather has done a wonderful job in researching these discontinued roads in town,” he said. “I know the road is public.”
