Published 1 day ago2 minute read

Actress Mercy Aigbe on Friday celebrated her daughter Michelle Gentry as the young model turned 24.

The mother of two shared dazzling photos of Michelle describing her as the love of her life.

“Happy 24th birthday to my first fruit, the entire love of my life @michelleio__,” Mercy wrote.

Several celebrities and well-wishers joined in celebrating Michelle in the comment section of the post.

Mercy’s husband Kazim Adeoti wrote, “Happy birthday, Michelle. God bless and protect you, darling.”

Actress Aisha Lawal commented, “Happy birthday darling.”

Ekene Umenwa wrote, “Happy birthday queen.”

Others like Efe Irele and Ruth Inneh also sent in birthday wishes, calling Michelle “beautiful” and “my love” respectively.

Michelle had earlier ushered in the month of July with a spiritual note and anticipation for her birthday.

In a post shared on July 2, she wrote:
“Hello July
My favourite month is here!
I step into this new month with gratitude, joy, and full expectation of God’s goodness.
He who began a good work in me is faithful to complete it.
Here’s to growth, grace, and the unfolding of His promises.
Happy new month, family!”

Michelle is Mercy’s first child. In previous posts, the actress has spoken about the struggles she faced raising Michelle alone after her first marriage crashed.

In June 2023, when Michelle graduated from a foreign university, Mercy reflected on her early struggles and shared that there was a time she could barely afford plane tickets to bring her daughter home for holidays.

“There was a time I was so broke, I couldn’t afford two tickets, I almost sent Michelle home to continue her education here in Nigeria,” she said during the graduation celebration.

The movie star has also shared an emotional story of apologising to Michelle after mistakenly hitting her while bathing her as a toddler, noting how the incident left the child terrified.

Mercy added that she learned to build trust with her daughter from that moment, encouraging other parents to own up to their mistakes.
