MCR Mania: Fans Rage Over Wembley Ticket Prices!

My Chemical Romance (MCR), the iconic rock band formed in 2001, recently confirmed two highly anticipated UK dates at Wembley Stadium for July 10 and 11, 2026. These performances are part of a massive stadium tour that follows a successful, sell-out run in the US. However, as tickets went on sale, fans were left furious and devastated by what they described as "extortionate" and "criminal" prices. Many specifically criticized the implementation of dynamic pricing, which led to significant disappointment among those eager to see the band's new show live in the UK. Expressions of outrage, such as "insane GTFO!" and "I'm not okay after seeing those Wembley gig ticket prices," widely circulated on social media platforms, highlighting the widespread discontent among the fanbase.

The band, composed of Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Ray Toro, and Frank Iero, solidified its status as a genre-defining group during the emo era. Their breakthrough success came with the 2004 album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, which was then followed by the multi-platinum selling concept album, The Black Parade, in 2006. This seminal album, which narrates a man's journey to the afterlife, is being celebrated on their current "Long Live: The Black Parade" tour. The spectacle includes lead singer Gerard Way being depicted as a fascist-style leader and features the band performing the entire titular album, followed by a second set comprising hits from their other four albums. To date, MCR has released four studio albums: their 2001 debut I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love; Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge; The Black Parade; and Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys in 2010. Additionally, they have released collections of recordings such as Conventional Weapons, along with bonus tracks and specials featured on their Greatest Hits album.

After an initial split in 2013, My Chemical Romance reformed in 2019 for a series of special shows and officially returned to touring earlier this year. Beyond their collaborative efforts, the individual band members have also pursued various solo projects. Gerard Way is notably credited with helping create the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy, which is based on a comic book he co-created with Gabriel Bá. Rhythm guitarist Frank Iero has toured as a frontman for several other bands, while lead guitarist Ray Toro has released his own solo material and contributed to album recordings for other groups, including Reggie and the Full Effect and Voltaire.

In a recent and surprising revelation, fans are also just discovering that My Chemical Romance's lead vocalist and co-founder, Gerard Way, shares a familial connection with the highly successful podcaster, Joe Rogan. Rogan confirmed on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, that he and Gerard are distant cousins, linked through Rogan's grandmother, Josie, who was Gerard's aunt. Despite this relation, Rogan clarified that he does not personally know Gerard. Joe Rogan, 58, boasts a diverse career that spans comedy, acting, UFC commentary, and television hosting. He launched The Joe Rogan Experience in 2009, which rapidly ascended to become one of the world's most popular podcasts within six years.
