Tinubu 2027: Youth Group Plans 10 Million-Man Rally to Back President’s Re-Election

The Youth on Ground Progressive and Mentorship Initiative (YOG)says it plans to mobilise 10 million young Nigerians for a mega rally in November in support of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

Founder and National Coordinator Dr. Obioma Nwuba announced the plan at a press conference in Abuja, calling on young Nigerians across wards, local government areas, states and the diaspora to join the initiative.

He said YOG was created to move young Nigerians beyond being used as political enforcers during elections and instead position them as organised participants in governance and national development. Nwuba said YOG’s activities are designed to complement the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda by translating federal policies into grassroots programmes across communities, markets, farms and campuses.

He cited initiatives including agro-tech training, mentorship programmes, youth mobilisation across ethnic and religious lines, and a free malaria and typhoid eradication programme in the Federal Capital Territory as examples of the group’s work. According to him, the initiative seeks to connect government priorities such as food security, job creation and national unity with practical programmes implemented at the community level.

Nwuba also urged the federal government and APC governors to recognise and partner with YOG as a grassroots delivery platform for the Renewed Hope Agenda. Addressing Tinubu, he argued that the president’s political success in 2027 would depend not only on his administration’s policies but also on effective grassroots mobilisation, describing the group’s planned 10 million youth network as a potential electoral force.

YOG’s proposed rally comes as political groups across Nigeria begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections, with youth mobilisation expected to play a significant role in the emerging campaigns.
