Martial Arts Maestros Jet Li, Wu Jing's Epic 'Blades of the Guardians' Set for North American Debut!

Well Go USA Entertainment has acquired the North American distribution rights to Blades of the Guardians, a highly anticipated Chinese historical action film produced by Mandarin Motion Pictures.
The film is directed by Legendary Action Choreographer Yuen Woo-ping, whose acclaimed body of work includes Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, setting expectations for a visually striking and expertly choreographed martial arts epic.
Star-Studded Cast Led by Martial Arts Icons
The film features an impressive ensemble cast headlined by Wu Jing, star of the Wolf Warrior franchise, who also serves as a producer.
He is joined by Martial Arts Legend Jet Li (Once Upon a Time in China), Nicholas Tse (Raging Fire), and Yosh Yu (Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms).
Adding to the film’s global appeal are K-pop stars Jun (Wen Junhui) of Seventeen and Winwin ofNCT, broadening the project’s reach across international audiences and fan bases.
Epic Story, Creative Team, and Release Plans
Blades of the Guardians is adapted from Xianzhe Xu’s popular comic series and is set during China’s turbulent Sui Dynasty under the rule of Emperor Yang Guang.
The story follows Biao Ren, a highly skilled mercenary navigating the dangerous deserts of the Western Regions.
What begins as a routine escort mission soon unravels into a complex and deadly conspiracy, drawing him into a high-stakes struggle filled with political intrigue and relentless combat.
The film was produced by Peace Film Production, with a screenplay written by Yu Baimei, Chao-pin Su, Chan Tai Lee, and Larry Yang.
Doris Pfardrescher, President and CEO of Well Go USA Entertainment, praised the project as “a sweeping action epic led by legends of the genre,” highlighting Yuen Woo-ping’s direction and the film’s “high-intensity action on a grand scale.”
She described the film as a celebration of martial arts cinema, a genre central to Well Go’s identity.
Blades of the Guardians is slated for release during the Lunar New Year holiday period, opening on February 17, positioning it as a major event for fans of martial arts and historical cinema.epics.
