August gas futures dropped 2.3¢ Friday to settle at $3.314 per million Btu after rising as high as $3.418 in early trade as markets weighed US President Donald Trump’s latest round of tariffs against expectations for warm weather ahead. “What impact another round of global tariff news had on prices is difficult to know, but potentially some,” NatGasWeather.com said. “There’s still plenty to the bearish side, highlighted by supplies getting refilled at a record pace the past few months, and already reaching a healthy 3,006 Bcf. And there’s still several more months of injections to go, including next week’s EIA storage report that’s expected to print a build slightly larger than the 5-year average and aided by the Independence Day Holiday.”
