Mark Your Calendars: Grid Legends Gears Up for Switch 2 Debut

Feral Interactive has officially announced the release of the racing video game, Grid Legends: Deluxe Edition, for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game is set to launch on January 29, with preorders already available on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop. This edition of Grid Legends will encompass the base game, which was initially released on various other platforms, along with all previously published downloadable content (DLC).
The Switch 2 version will feature the comprehensive career mode present in other iterations of the game, as well as the unique live-action Driven to Glory mode. However, a notable distinction for the Nintendo Switch 2 release is the absence of online multiplayer functionality. The only online connectivity offered will be online leaderboards, allowing players to compare track times.
All other game modes and features are expected to remain fully intact. Furthermore, the Nintendo Switch 2 version will support analog trigger input when utilizing the Nintendo Switch Online Gamecube controller, specifically when the console is in docked mode.
Grid Legends originally debuted in 2022 across multiple platforms including Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Upon its initial release, the game garnered praise from critics for its successful blend of arcade and simulator-style racing mechanics, intelligent NPC artificial intelligence, and impressive graphics.
The game was subsequently ported to mobile platforms, iOS and Android, and its arrival on Switch 2 was first announced in December 2025, with an initial release window of early 2026, making the January 29 launch a significant event. Grid Legends is poised to be one of the inaugural motorsport titles to be released on the new console, joining Nintendo's own party racing game, Mario Kart World, as a key racing offering for the Switch 2.
