Mariners offer 'Big Dumper' to help as Coldplay kiss cam scandal breaks internet
The sports world seemed to react with the same amusement that the rest of the internet-connected world did at the viral video of a tech CEO having an alleged affair exposed at a Coldplay concert on Wednesday night at Gillette Stadium.
And several professional sports teams have had some fun with the moment, poking fun at it through posts on social media.
The Mariners posted an image on X of star Cal Raleigh with the words, “Need the Big Dumper to do some dumpin?” written in it.

“If your significant other was recently spotted at a Coldplay concert, email [email protected],” the post also read.
The Cardinals had some fun of their own when they posted a photo of franchise legends Albert Pujols and Adam Wainwright embracing with the caption, “When Coldplay starts playing your song.”
In a post by the Mets’ Double-A minor league affiliate, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, they wrote a welcome to the “happy couple.”

“The happy couple is welcome in Rumbletown. We promise we won’t put you on the videoboard,” the Rumble Ponies wrote.
The post included a quoted post of the viral video that has taken the internet by storm.
The couple in question has been identified as Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s human resources officer, Kristin Cabot.
Byron appears to be married, while Cabot has recently divorced her husband.
The two scrambled to hide their faces after they were put up on the video board during a “kiss cam” at Wednesday’s show in New England.
When the camera first caught them, they were caught up in a loved-up embrace before they quickly realized they were on the screen and attempted to hide their identities.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin — who made a surprise appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup halftime show at MetLife Stadium on Sunday — realized their reaction and quickly reacted, “Oh, what?”
“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” he continued.
Sports media also got in on the action, with sports media personality Katie Nolan commenting on the viral moment on X.
“Haven’t seen something as white-hot viral as that video of the CEO cheating on his wife at a Coldplay concert in a while,” she wrote. “Very unfortunate for them, but kind of nice for us? Almost reminiscent of pre-whateverthefuckthisis internet. Unless they launch a podcast.”
