Marcus Rashford's Barcelona move heats up with critical meeting - Man United News And Transfer News | The Peoples Person
Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has been linked to a move away from his boyhood side all summer.
The 27 year old fell out with Ruben Amorim in December and consequently, spent the second half of the season at Aston Villa.
Rashford and Villa could not agree to a deal to allow him to stay in Birmingham and he has since returned to United.
He has been training away from the main group at Carrington and the club recently gave away his old number 10 to newest recruit Matheus Cunha.
Fenerbahce have recently been linked with a move for the wide attacker but Rashford has always made it clear that his dream switch is to FC Barcelona.
Problematically for Rashford, la Blaugrana have been chasing Nico Williams and Luis Diaz but with both deals failing to materialise, the England international is now firmly back on the club’s agenda.
Nonetheless, if Barcelona are to sign the player, they will reportedly have to commit to a permanent transfer rather than a loan deal, which they would prefer to do as of now.
The Barca Times has reported that club President Laporta, manager Hansi Flick and super-agent Pini Zahavi met in a restaurant in the city last night.

Catalan paper Sport also report that in yesterday’s “meeting between Laporta, Hansi Flick and Pini Zahavi, they spoke about Frenkie de Jong’s renewal and the signing of Rashford.”
Zahavi’s presence is important as Rashford recently teamed up with the agent to help facilitate a deal to Barcelona.
It has been reported in recent days that Barcelona plan to open serious talks imminently for a move for Rashford.
Frustratingly for fans, United’s summer business is at something of an impasse as they are currently struggling to meet Brentford’s demands for Bryan Mbeumo.
In addition, despite endless negotiations, they have so far been unable to offload any of Antony, Jadon Sancho or Alejandro Garnacho.
The permanent sale of Rashford is an absolute must this summer and would do wonders for the club’s finances as they hope to add more new signings to Ruben Amorim’s squad.
