Man City Shake-Up! John Stones Reportedly Eyeing Summer Exit from Etihad

John Stones, the 31-year-old defender, is set to leave Manchester City this summer, the club has announced. He will depart as a free agent at the end of the season, concluding a significant 10-year tenure at the Etihad Stadium.

During his decade with the Premier League club, Stones achieved remarkable success, securing six Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, and numerous other domestic trophies. He played a crucial role in the club's historic treble-winning season in 2023, starting in both the FA Cup final against Manchester United and the Champions League final against Inter Milan.

The decision regarding the non-renewal of his contract is partly attributed to his chequered injury record. Stones has faced limited playing time recently, having not started a Premier League game since October and making just 18 league appearances since the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign.

In a poignant video shared on his Instagram page, Stones, formerly of Everton, conveyed his enduring connection to Manchester City, stating it would be "his home" for life. He reflected on his journey, saying, "It has been a rollercoaster in many ways. I came as a kid and now leaving as a man -- becoming a father, a husband and, on the pitch, a very fulfilled player. I lived all my dreams out and lifted all the things that I came here to achieve. At the start of my career here I never would have thought I would be in this position. Firstly, to achieve everything but to have the love, the bond with everyone. Every dream has been smashed out of the park."
