Man City Mounts Epic Comeback vs. Liverpool Amidst VAR Chaos, Title Race Ignites!
Manchester City earned an important 2–1 win over Liverpool at Anfield in a dramatic Premier League match.
The result kept City’s title hopes alive and damaged Liverpool’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
The game included a brilliant free-kick, late goals, and several important VAR decisions.
Liverpool took the lead in the 74th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai scored an excellent free-kick. It looked like Liverpool would secure a valuable win.
However, Manchester City fought back strongly. Erling Haaland helped create the equalizer, which Bernardo Silva scored.
Later, in stoppage time, Haaland scored a penalty to give City the victory.
City thought they had scored another goal when Rayan Cherki shot into an empty net from far away.
However, VAR disallowed the goal and instead gave Szoboszlai a red card for pulling Haaland and denying a clear goalscoring chance.
This win was very important for Manchester City. Instead of falling further behind Arsenal, they reduced the gap to six points.
The victory also gave City confidence as they continue their title challenge.
Liverpool, on the other hand, were left disappointed. They had been winning but lost the game late.
This was the sixth time this season they have conceded a goal after the 90th minute in the league. This weakness could hurt their chances of finishing in the top four.
Some Liverpool players struggled in the match.
Mohamed Salah was unable to make a big impact, and goalkeeper Alisson Becker made a costly mistake by fouling Matheus Nunes, which led to City’s winning penalty.
Szoboszlai had both a good and bad game.
He scored a beautiful free-kick but was later sent off for committing a foul on Haaland.
This means he will miss Liverpool’s next match.
VAR played an important role in the game. It confirmed the penalty for City and reviewed the late incident involving Szoboszlai’s red card and the disallowed goal.
These decisions helped determine the final result.
Overall, Manchester City showed strong determination to win, while Liverpool were left frustrated after losing the match in the final moments.
