On Monday, July 14, Lydia revealed that Doso had fallen from the fourth floor of an apartment building in the early hours after a night out, sustaining multiple serious injuries.
He was rushed to Avenue Hospital in Kisumu, where he was admitted in critical condition.
In an emotional social media appeal, Lydia called on anyone willing to donate blood to rush to the facility, explaining that he could not be taken into surgery without it.
Her plea was met with overwhelming support, as fans and followers quickly responded by turning up to donate blood.
On the night of Wednesday, July 16, Lydia shared a fresh update on Doso’s condition.
She confirmed that he had undergone an eight-hour life-saving surgery after sustaining a severe pelvic fracture, muscle tears, and internal bleeding.
However, due to the shock and trauma from the fall, Doso developed acute kidney complications and is now undergoing dialysis.
He has since been moved to the High Dependency Unit (HDU), where his recovery journey has already started.
She appealed for financial support, writing:
“As you can imagine, the hospital bills have grown far beyond what we ever anticipated, and they are still increasing daily. We are humbly requesting your help to ease the financial burden so we can focus fully on his recovery. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly towards his hospital expenses, drugs, and rehabilitation.”
She also shared her phone number for those willing to send financial support.
Lydia addressed questions from concerned supporters about visiting Doso, explaining that HDU restrictions only allow visits from her, his mother, and brother.
“Unfortunately, due to him being in HDU, which is a critical care unit, you can't see him, only I, his mother, and brother have been authorised to visit. Please understand and bear with us. Once he’s transferred to the general ward, we will let you know so you can come and visit him,” she said.
