On December 4, 2024, Nelson Anyena, a 25-year-old mason, was reportedly lured by his supposed lover, Augustina Fiawoyife, to leave Wusuta and meet her at a remote location in Mafi-Adidome.

According to the police report, Anyena was strangled to death, and his body was handed over to a fetish priest in exchange for GH¢7,000.

The killing was allegedly carried out by Wisdom Hedidor and Courage Bedzo.

The crime came to light following detailed investigations and led to the arrest of all suspects.

In connection with this gruesome murder, the Volta Regional Police Command has arrested six individuals.

The arrests occurred in Blorkorfe and Awakpedome, both suburbs of Adidome in the Central Tongu District.

A police statement identified the fetish priest involved as Noah Gblor, a fetish priest, along with Yohannes Gblor, a security guard, and John Gblor, a lotto writer.
During an exhumation exercise at Noah Gblor’s shrine on July 7, 2025, investigators discovered two additional unidentified bodies buried at the same location.

The exhumed bodies have since been transported to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra for autopsy and DNA analysis.

Also, all six suspects have been remanded in police custody and are expected to reappear in court on Friday, August 8, 2025.

As investigations continue, the police have hinted at the possibility of further arrests.

Meanwhile, the Volta Regional Police Command has appealed for calm among residents and families of the deceased.
