Suspected kidnappers have abducted three farmers, including Funke Agbaje, in the Agbaje community of the Ala-Elefosan axis in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State. The victims, comprising two women and one man, were reportedly seized while working on their farm. The incident has heightened concerns over the growing insecurity facing farming communities in the state.

The abductors have since contacted the victims' families and are demanding N5 million for each captive, bringing the total ransom demand to N15 million. Family members say they are devastated by the development and lack the financial means to meet the demand. They described the abduction as a painful reminder of the dangers farmers now face while carrying out their daily activities.

The case has been reported to the Nigeria Police and the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun. Residents have appealed to the state government and security agencies to secure the victims' release and improve security in rural communities. The Ondo State Police Command has assured the public that the incident is being investigated.
