The champions welcome the second-placed Gunners to Anfield for a 4.30pm BST kick-off.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last 14 home games against Arsenal in all competitions (won seven, drawn seven) since a 2-0 loss in September 2012.

One more goal or assist for Salah will see him equal the Premier League record of most goal involvements in a season – emulating the 47 for Andrew Cole in 1993-94 and Alan Shearer the following season.

Virgil van Dijk, meanwhile, is in line for his 300th Premier League appearance (he made 67 at Southampton). He will be the fourth Dutchman to reach this milestone after George Boateng (384), Dennis Bergkamp (315) and Edwin van der Sar (313).

Each of the last two top-flight meetings between the clubs at Anfield have finished level, with the visitors taking the lead inside the opening 10 minutes in both. Never in history has there been three draws in a row in Anfield league clashes.

The Reds have scored 111 Premier League goals against Arsenal – 22 more than the next side (Manchester United, 89).

Trent Alexander-Arnold has more Premier League assists against Arsenal than he does versus any other club, with six of his seven assists coming at Anfield. No player in Premier League history has more assists against the Gunners than Alexander-Arnold (level with Steven Gerrard).

Mikel Arteta's men are looking to become the third team to avoid defeat home and away versus Liverpool this season, after Nottingham Forest and Fulham.
