There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LKL. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The game between third ranked Jonava (19-15) and fifth ranked Lietkabelis (18-16) was the most important one in the last round on Tuesday night.
Jonava was defeated by Lietkabelis in a tough game in Panevezys 68-72. Lietkabelis looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Paulius Danusevicius (205-2001) who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. International power forward Gabrielius Maldunas (204-1993, college: Dartmouth) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Brandon Childress (183-1997, college: Wake Forest) who recorded 20 points and 4 assists. Jonava's coach Mantas Sernius rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lietkabelis moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Wolves. Jonava at the other side keeps the third position with 15 games lost. Lietkabelis is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Mazeikiai (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Jonava will play against Wolves (#5) in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kaunas. First ranked Zalgiris faced 4th placed Wolves. Host Zalgiris (32-2) defeated guests from Vilnius (18-16) 89-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Wolves. It was a good game for French point guard Sylvain Francisco (185-1997) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 7 assists. Edgaras Ulanovas contributed with 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-1997, college: Maryland) answered with 16 points for Wolves. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zalgiris have an impressive series of twenty eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 32-2 record. Wolves at the other side keeps the fourth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Lietkabelis. Zalgiris will play against league's second-placed Rytas in Vilnius in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Wolves will play at home against Jonava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Siauliai was defeated by Rytas in Vilnius 103-96. Juventus beat Nevezis at home 101-91. Bottom-ranked Mazeikiai lost to Neptunas on the opponent's court 79-85.

There was no surprise in Vilnius where 7th ranked Siauliai (13-21) was defeated by second ranked Rytas (28-6)

Rytasplayers were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Siauliai was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Rytashave an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with
28-6record having four points less than leader Zalgiris.
