Lewis Pullman Talks Getting Into Shape For 'Thunderbolts*' - mxdwn Movies

, Lewis Pullman talked about how it felt to get into shape for his role as Bob Reynolds/Sentry/the Void in the recently released Thunderbolts*. He first begins by talking about a moment early in the film when his character discovers that he’s invulnerable after being shot at by soldiers. At that moment, his shirt gets filled with bullet holes, causing the lower half to rip off, which Pullman says was a source of irony for him due to the intense diet and workout regimen he took on for the role. In Pullman’s words: “It was the most extreme transformation I’ve ever done, and you don’t even see that much of it on camera.”

Pullman compares his physical work on Thunderbolts* to his work on Top Gun: Maverick, which features a scene of many of the make cast shirtless in an homage to the original Top Gun. Pullman compares his work on both films by saying, “I was just sitting on the sidelines for that one, but now I got a taste of it—and a heavy dose. You look shredded, but you feel like shit.”

Pullman also explains that the one saving grace of his physical experience was finally eating whatever he wanted. He calls this experience a “serious last supper moment. “After that scene was done, Pullman explains, “I had one of those ice cream Snickers. Maybe three of them. And then I had a milkshake. And a burger, and ice cream, and French fries.”

You can see Lewis Pullman as Bob Reynolds/Sentry/the Void in Thunderbolts*, which is now playing in theaters.
