Let fashion experts handle the TGMA red carpet to make it special - Ricky Tenneson

Ghanaian music executive, Ricky Tenneson, has suggested that the red-carpet segment of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) should be managed by fashion professionals to boost its impact and prestige.
Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV, Tenneson said the red carpet should be handed over to people who understand fashion, such as fashion bloggers, stylists, and magazine editors.
According to him, these experts are better positioned to create a memorable experience.
“For the red carpet, we’re selling it to the fashion gurus. From people who post content on blogs, magazines, they should own that so that it is special,” he said.
He explained that involving fashion experts in the planning process would allow them enough time to carefully select the right personalities, including models and celebrities, who will walk the red carpet.
“Within the four to five months of planning, they’re also not planning for the main event; they’re planning on getting the right people, the right models, and even the artistes who will come on,” he explained.
Ricky Tenneson used the Met Gala as an example, stating that what people usually remember most about such events is the red-carpet appearance, not what happens inside.
“For whatever the event was, the only thing you remember is the red-carpet moment when everyone was coming in. Whatever they went after that to go and do, you and I don’t even remember,” he added.
