LeBron James vs Michael Jordan 1v1 From the Eyes of the World's Strongest Man

Published 1 day ago4 minute read

The basketball GOAT debate between and has seen many people give out different opinions. Be it players, analysts, fans, etc., there is no shortage of opinions once this debate comes up.

There are several arguments for both sides, especially when it comes to statistics and accolades. Where Jordan’s dominating run in the 1990s was second to none, James’ consistency in 22 seasons has no comparison.

Then there are others who believe the Chicago Bulls great is the better of the two athletes, especially when it comes to 1v1 basketball. However, the World’s Strongest Man, , had a different opinion on this topic.

I put LeBron over Jordan just because of his basketball acumen. Jordan was a better scorer, but if both were in their primes, Lebron was a bigger giant dude. He would bully him. Imagine if Karl Malone could play like a guard? That’s who LeBron is. He’s Karl Malone, that plays like a guard, and he has the ability to pass the ball like Magic and Stockton.

Mark Henry detailed how LeBron James would bully Michael Jordan with his length and his weight advantage. At the same time, he also placed James in the realm of the GOAT owing to his basketball acumen and his playmaking ability, which can rival some of the best guards in league history.

Mark Henry (World’s Strongest Man) on LeBron vs. Jordan:

“He [LeBron] would bully him… Imagine if Karl Malone could play like a guard? That’s who LeBron is. He’s Karl Malone that plays like a guard, and he has the ability to pass the ball like Magic and Stockton.”

This is a different way of explaining how the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is better than the 6-time NBA champion. Many resort to rings and accolades to differentiate the two, but using a combination of IQ, playmaking, physicality, and athleticism to place James as the GOAT was unique.

Mark Henry was speaking from what he had observed among the two greats of the game. He has lived long enough to watch both Michael Jordan in his prime, as well as LeBron James’ continuing legacy, to name his GOAT.

However, there may not be enough takers for his 1v1 comparison. For starters, the Chicago Bulls great was a much more skilled player. He could create shots from impossible situations and could defend at a high rate.

Moreover, his efficiency was at par with James’ despite playing in an era where physicality and hand-checking were a routine part of the NBA. Then there is the drive that many talk about. He might be outrebounded by James, but is still considered a much better 1v1 player.

On the other hand, many, including some of his closest friends, have clarified that the 40-year-old superstar is not great at 1v1 basketball. Therefore, there is a chance Michael Jordan hands LeBron James a defeat in a game of one-on-one.

The GOAT debate will continue at least until LeBron James retires from the NBA. Now, as he is enjoying the offseason with his family, the 40-year-old superstar is more concerned about his life, his wife, and his children.

He mentioned that he will be taking time to think about his future. Even though there is a faint chance that he calls it quits, many believe he will play at least another season. He is still in peak physical conditioning and only struggled with fatigue in the playoffs.

If the Los Angeles Lakers can build a good enough squad around him and Luka Doncic , maybe he can avoid getting exhausted. If that were to happen, there is a real chance the father of three can continue playing into his 40s.
