LeAnn Rimes' Onstage Dental Incident

Country-pop star LeAnn Rimes recently experienced an unexpected and memorable dental mishap during a live performance in Washington. While singing her 1996 hit “One Way Ticket” at The Skagit Casino Resort, her front dental bridge unexpectedly detached. Visibly flustered, Rimes swiftly left the stage to address the situation, later candidly explaining in an Instagram video, “I feel something pop in my mouth. And if you’ve been around, you know I’ve had a lot of dental surgeries and I have a bridge in the front, and it fell out in the middle of my song last night.”

Rather than canceling the show, the 42-year-old artist made a swift recovery, rejoining her band and finishing the set. She discreetly attempted to push her bridge back into place between lines, demonstrating, “‘Can’t Fight the Moonlight,’ the teeth completely fell in my mouth.” Despite the interruption, Rimes embraced the moment, calling it “the most epic experience ever.” She emphasized her commitment to transparency, stating, “The show can go on, even in the midst of sheer, utter embarrassment. You just gotta be real with people.” She jokingly warned the front row of her second show that evening, “If you catch them, please return them.”

Rimes has long been open about her extensive dental struggles, a history that includes 29 surgeries. These issues stem from a botched set of veneers she received around the age of 16, which led to chronic pain for nearly two and a half years. In 2013, she even filed a malpractice lawsuit against her former dentist due to complications from failed veneers. As of her recent Instagram update, Rimes noted her teeth were “in for now,” reflecting on the incident as an unforgettable reminder to power through live anomalies with humor and honesty.

Beyond her dental challenges, Rimes delved into other personal topics in a recent Flow Space cover story. She spoke candidly about the contentious beginnings of her 14-year marriage to Eddie Cibrian. Their relationship began when both were still married to other people, leading to significant public backlash. Rimes acknowledged the pain felt by many women who have been cheated on, having experienced it herself. She learned to differentiate between her responsibility in the situation and the world’s projected anger, stating, “This is not all my pain to carry…the world’s pain is not mine to carry.”

Throughout their relationship, Cibrian has been a steadfast support system for Rimes, especially through various health issues. These include her prolonged battle with psoriasis and her more recent struggles with perimenopause. Rimes’ willingness to share these intimate details, from her dental ordeals to the complexities of her marriage and health, underscores her commitment to authenticity and transparency with her audience.
