Latin Music Icon Daddy Yankee Set to Electrify New Year's Rockin' Eve 2026

Billboard editors recently highlighted several uplifting moments in Latin music, encompassing significant career milestones, new music releases, major announcements, and heartfelt charitable endeavors. These moments showcase the vibrant impact and community spirit within the Latin music world.

A major announcement includes reggaetón superstar Daddy Yankee, who is set to ring in 2026 with "Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest." He will lead a live celebration from Puerto Rico, co-hosted by Roselyn Sánchez. The iconic New Year's event, airing live on Wednesday, December 31, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, with next-day streaming on Hulu and iHeartRadio stations, features a star-studded lineup from various locations. Ryan Seacrest and Rita Ora will host from Times Square, featuring a headlining performance by Diana Ross, alongside artists like Ciara, LE SSERAFIM, Little Big Town, and Maren Morris. Chance the Rapper will co-host and perform from Chicago with Jamila Woods, while Rob Gronkowski and Julianne Hough will handle Las Vegas duties, featuring performances from 50 Cent, Demi Lovato, and Charlie Puth. The West Coast segment includes Mariah Carey, Zara Larsson, New Kids on the Block, and DJ Cassidy’s Pass the Mic Live! with Busta Rhymes and Wyclef Jean. Additional performances are slated from Post Malone in Nashville, Chappell Roan in Kansas City, Pitbull, and 4 Non Blondes.

Beyond entertainment, Latin music artists are actively engaging in significant community support. Elena Rose recently demonstrated immense holiday cheer by visiting the Redland Center of Homestead Housing. Her visit was in support of Harvesting Hope, an organization dedicated to assisting over 1,500 diverse migrant families across four agricultural camps. Harvesting Hope provides crucial resources such as school supplies, health services, scholarships, and opportunities for academic growth and post-secondary education. Elena Rose’s contribution helped amplify these vital efforts, spreading holiday joy and making a tangible difference in these communities, as she personally collected 300 gifts for children from immigrant families in need.

Similarly, the regional Mexican band Fuerza Regida made a significant impact in their hometown of San Bernardino by organizing a massive toy drive for underprivileged children. The band personally delivered a semi-truck full of toys, reportedly valued at over $250,000, to El Super grocery store on Mount Vernon Avenue. Hundreds of children, aged three and up, eagerly lined up to receive gifts. Fuerza Regida shared a heartwarming video of the event on social media, capturing the joy and gratitude of the families and children who benefited from their generous initiative.
