West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo expressed profound frustration after Brighton's Georginio Rutter netted a controversial 91st-minute equalizer, costing his team two crucial Premier League points on Sunday. The match at Amex Stadium ultimately finished 1-1, canceling out Jarrod Bowen's earlier goal for West Ham.
The contentious moment occurred when the ball, sent into the West Ham penalty area, popped up off Rutter's thigh and then onto his arm before he struck it low past goalkeeper Alphonse Areola. Despite a subsequent video assistant referee (VAR) review, the goal was deemed to be within the laws of the game, much to the dismay of the Hammers' bench.
