Published 6 hours ago1 minute read

The Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, organised an interactive quiz competition for students with disabilities. The event, themed, ‘Celebrating the Unique Qualities of Children with Disabilities and Strengthening their Capabilities’, was held at the LASODA premises.

The initiative aimed to promote academic excellence, confidence, and inclusion among students in primary schools with disabilities in Lagos State. It also aims to encourage parental involvement in the education of their children.

At the conclusion of the keenly contested quiz, Wesley School 2 for the Deaf, Surulere, emerged first, while Wesley School 1 for the Deaf, Surulere, came second. Ojuwoye Community School Inclusive Unit, Mushin, secured the third position.

The highlight of the day was the presentation of gifts and awards to the winners in recognition of their outstanding performance. The event marks another significant step by LASODA towards fostering inclusivity where everyone can participate and thrive regardless of their abilities. It also provided a platform for students with disabilities to showcase their academic skills and compete on an equal footing with their peers.
