Lagos Tragedy: 'Do You Know Who I Am?' Benz Driver Kills Realtor Over Parking Dispute

A tragic parking dispute in Royal Pine Estate on Orchid Road, Lekki, Lagos State, has led to the death of 36-year-old realtor, Yinka Agboola. The incident, which occurred on Monday night, December 8, 2025, involved a violent altercation with the driver of a white Mercedes-Benz ML 350, plate number KWL-468DF, who is currently at large.
According to eyewitness accounts and details provided by Agboola’s sister, Oluwadamilola, the confrontation began when residents politely asked the Benz driver to move his vehicle, which was obstructing the road. Despite being offered an alternative parking spot, the driver reportedly became aggressive, responding with threats such as, “Do you know who I am? I will kill you right now,” or “someone will die” if he wasn’t allowed to park there. This initial disagreement quickly escalated into a scuffle.
Yinka Agboola, a resident himself, attempted to intervene in the escalating situation. However, the driver entered his vehicle and, instead of leaving, allegedly drove forward and then dangerously reversed toward the group of residents. When this attempt failed, he then allegedly grabbed Agboola by the arm or, as some accounts suggest, Agboola attempted to restrain the driver while clinging to the steering wheel. The suspect then sped off with Agboola hanging beside the moving car.
CCTV footage, which has since surfaced, corroborates parts of these accounts, showing the white Mercedes-Benz reversing dangerously and another clip recording the moment Agboola was knocked down as the vehicle sped away. Witnesses claim the driver drove at high speed before slamming the brakes, violently throwing Yinka onto the pavement and into a gutter, leaving him unconscious and severely injured.
Agboola was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of an undisclosed hospital, where he remained unconscious until he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Wednesday, December 11. The driver reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident and has not been located.
The incident has been reported to the Ajah police station. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, publicly confirmed that action is being taken and advised relatives to file an official report. He assured that police authorities are ready to investigate once a formal complaint is made, clarifying that while the incident likely did not occur in Delta State as some initial reports suggested, proper investigation would proceed. Nigerians are now calling for swift prosecution as a manhunt for the fair-skinned, tall, curly-haired driver with strong, chiseled facial features and a muscular build is underway.
