Lagos Police Capture Notorious Serial Rapist & Robber Posing as Taxi Driver!

Crack detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, under the Lagos State Police Command, have successfully apprehended Adedayo Ben Adegbola, a suspected serial rapist and armed robber. This significant arrest follows multiple reports of rape, assault, and robbery targeting female passengers across the state, with Adegbola also linked to viral social media posts showing his image, where he was identified by several victims.
The arrest was made possible through a painstaking and intelligence-driven investigation, launched following a strict directive from the Commissioner of Police (CP), Olohundare Jimoh. CP Jimoh had ordered an immediate and thorough probe into the disturbing cases reported by numerous survivors. Coordinated efforts by joint investigation teams within the SCID culminated in Adegbola's apprehension on Friday, October 31, 2025, at approximately 9:40 a.m.
During the operation, authorities also recovered the suspect’s operational vehicle, a red Toyota Corolla with registration number JJJ 226 HT. This vehicle was allegedly used in perpetrating the crimes and has since been secured as an exhibit, destined to be presented during the prosecution process. The police confirmed that Adegbola is currently in custody, with investigations being intensified to identify and apprehend any other accomplices believed to have participated in these heinous crimes.
The Lagos State Police Command has urged any individuals who may have suffered similar attacks to visit the SCID, Panti, to provide information and evidence that could aid the ongoing investigation. The command has given firm assurances that the identities of all victims will be fully protected, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring justice for survivors.
Reaffirming the command’s dedication to justice and public safety, CP Olohundare Jimoh vowed that no stone would be left unturned in ensuring that Adedayo Ben Adegbola and his collaborators face the full weight of the law. He also pledged to provide further updates on the case as investigations progress, reinforcing the police's commitment to protecting all residents and maintaining security in Lagos State.
