The pop star received the award at the 46th Annual Sports Emmy Awards for ‘Outstanding Music Direction.’ The award recognized her rendition of ‘Hold My Hand,’ a song she performed during the Super Bowl. This performance has garnered her significant recognition and acclaim.
Lady Gaga's accomplishments include multiple Grammy Awards and an Oscar for her role in ‘A Star Is Born.’ With the addition of the Sports Emmy, she is now only one award away from achieving EGOT status, which includes an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. The public is anticipating that she may soon receive a Tony Award, completing her set of the most prestigious awards in the industry.
Alongside Lady Gaga, the Emmy award was also accepted by producers Seth Dudowsky, Bill Richards, Joel Santos, Jesse Weiss, and Brad Zager, as well as music editor Joe Nargi. Their collective effort contributed to the success of the performance.
Gaga’s Emmy-winning performance featured a powerful and emotional rendition of ‘Hold My Hand’ on the New Orleans stage. The performance was also a tribute to the 14 people who tragically died during the New Year’s attack the previous year. The act included a full-sized band, orchestra, and a local gospel choir, with first responder teams and law enforcement officials seated in the front row.
Performing the single from ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ Lady Gaga played the piano in the middle of a New Orleans street, creating a theatrical and emotionally resonant experience. This performance served as a dedication to the lives lost during the New Year attack, conveying a powerful message through Gaga's artistry.
To date, notable figures such as Viola Davis, Alan Menken, Whoopi Goldberg, Audrey Hepburn, Rita Moreno, and Andrew Lloyd Webber have achieved the prestigious EGOT status, highlighting the rarity and significance of this accomplishment.
