Lady Gaga's Potential EGOT After Sports Emmy Win

Lady Gaga is one Tony Award away from achieving EGOT status, a distinction held by fewer than two dozen artists. She recently won a Sports Emmy for outstanding music direction for her performance of "Hold My Hand" before the Super Bowl in New Orleans. The performance paid tribute to the 14 victims of a terrorist attack during New Year's celebrations on Bourbon Street.

Gaga's performance included sports figures Tom Brady and Michael Strahan, along with first responders. Brady emphasized the importance of not letting evil win, while Strahan expressed solidarity with the families and friends of the victims. Gaga performed at a piano on Bourbon Street, accompanied by a local gospel choir. This performance was nominated alongside other notable works.

Lady Gaga has 14 Grammy Awards, starting with "Just Dance" in 2008, and most recently for "Die With a Smile." She won an Oscar for "Shallow" from A Star Is Born, a remake with Bradley Cooper. She was previously nominated for best song in 2016 and for best actress in the same year she won her Oscar. She received another Oscar nomination this year for "Hold My Hand," featured in Top Gun: Maverick.

In March, Lady Gaga accepted the iHeartRadio Innovator Award, hinting at future projects. She stated that she feels like she is just getting started, despite being in her late 30s, and suggested that a Tony Award is still a possibility.
