Kwarteng, a member of the NPP’s national communications team and legal practitioner, will lead media strategy and public engagement for the former Assin Central MP’s bid. The appointment signals Agyapong’s move to formalize campaign structures ahead of the competitive internal contest.

Kwarteng brings significant government communications experience, having previously served as spokesperson for Ghana’s Ministry of Education where he managed high-level media relations. His background includes active involvement in grassroots politics, notably during the 2024 NPP parliamentary primaries in Asante Akyem North. Agyapong’s selection reflects a strategy to leverage Kwarteng’s expertise in political communication, public policy, and governance.

The newly appointed spokesperson holds multiple academic credentials, including an LLB from GIMPA, a Bachelor of Education from the University for Development Studies, and master’s degrees in Public Administration from KNUST and International Law from the University of Ghana. He is a qualified Barrister and Solicitor of Ghana’s Supreme Court with additional qualifications in occupational health and public relations.

In this role, Kwarteng will articulate Agyapong’s policy vision to party delegates and the electorate. His appointment comes as the NPP opposition prepares to select its candidate for the 2028 general elections, with the campaign expected to intensify in the coming months under the current political landscape where the National Democratic Congress holds executive power.
