Kwaprow Chief Named ECOWAS Diplomacy Envoy | News Ghana
The recognition positions him to advance regional diplomatic initiatives and youth empowerment programs across West Africa.
The International Youth Network for United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 (IYNUNSCR2250) conferred the title during a swearing-in ceremony. Global President Dr. Lilian Sally Addo cited the chief’s philanthropic work and advocacy for women and youth development as key qualifications for the role.
In his acceptance address, Dawda pledged to combat youth drug abuse through collaboration with traditional and religious leaders. “I urge all community stakeholders to partner in promoting drug-free lifestyles,” he told media, while vowing to establish support systems for single mothers facing economic vulnerability.
The appointment reflects ECOWAS’s growing engagement of traditional authorities in regional diplomacy, particularly in addressing cross-border social challenges. Dawda previously gained recognition for community development initiatives in Ghana’s Zongo settlements.
