KPop Phenomenon: HUNTR/X's 'Golden' Dominates Global Charts for 13 Weeks!

HUNTR/X’s hit single “Golden,” prominently featured in Netflix’s acclaimed animated movie KPop Demon Hunters, has impressively returned to the pinnacle of both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. This marks its 13th week leading each chart, solidifying its position after first achieving the No. 1 spot in July. The musical ensemble HUNTR/X features the vocal talents of EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI, contributing to its global appeal and success.
The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts are meticulously compiled by Luminate, ranking songs based on comprehensive streaming and sales activity from over 200 territories worldwide. The Global 200 offers an inclusive view of worldwide data, while the Global Excl. U.S. chart specifically focuses on data gathered from territories outside of the United States. Chart rankings are determined using a sophisticated weighted formula that incorporates official-only streams from both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, alongside download sales. It's important to note that download sales are sourced from full-service digital music retailers globally, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites being excluded from the charts’ calculations.
For the week concluding on October 23, “Golden” demonstrated its continued dominance on the Global 200 with 123.4 million streams, despite a 6% week-over-week decrease, and an additional 14,000 units sold globally, experiencing an 11% dip. On the Global Excl. U.S. chart, the song secured its top position with 95.1 million streams, a 5% decrease, and 8,000 units sold outside the U.S., down 7%.
Within the competitive landscape of the Global 200, Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” descended to No. 2, having previously spent its initial two weeks at the summit. Her album, The Life of a Showgirl, further solidified its presence with three additional tracks in the top 10: “Opalite” maintaining its No. 3 position after reaching No. 2, “Elizabeth Taylor” moving from 4-6 (with a No. 3 peak), and “Father Figure” shifting from 5-7 (peaking at No. 4). Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” ascended 6-4, following an impressive 10 weeks atop the Global 200 earlier in May, while Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need” made a significant jump from 13-5, after previously reaching No. 4.
Similar trends were observed on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, where “The Fate of Ophelia” also dropped to No. 2 after its two-week reign at No. 1. “Opalite” held steady at its No. 3 peak, and “Elizabeth Taylor” moved from 5-10, having previously peaked at No. 4. Kenshi Yonezu’s “Iris Out” remained at No. 4, after hitting No. 2, and “Ordinary” climbed from 6-5, following its eight weeks at No. 1 starting in May.
The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts for November 1, 2025, are scheduled to be updated on Billboard.com on October 28. Readers can access the top 100 titles on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are exclusively available through Billboard Pro, Billboard’s subscription-based service. For continuous updates and chart news, followers can engage with @billboard and @billboardcharts on social media platforms X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
Luminate, acting as the independent data provider for the Billboard charts, plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of the rankings. It conducts a thorough review and authentication of all data submissions, and in collaboration with Billboard, any data deemed suspicious or unverifiable is systematically removed, based on established criteria, before the final chart calculations are published.
