Kizz Daniel Fires Back: Debunks Claims of Frozen Bank Accounts in Contract Row

Nigerian music superstar, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, widely known as Kizz Daniel, has vehemently dismissed a viral report that alleged a court order mandated the freezing of his personal and business accounts due to a contract dispute. The widespread report, circulating across various social media platforms, claimed that the "Buga" hitmaker was ordered to pay €200,000 in damages for allegedly failing to honor a scheduled show, despite having received a $50,000 advance payment. Furthermore, the report falsely stated that his accounts with Access Bank were frozen by a court directive.
In a comprehensive statement released on Thursday, September 25, 2025, Kizz Daniel’s team unequivocally branded the report as false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to tarnish the esteemed artist’s reputation. The statement clarified, “Kizz Daniel has no such case in court, and no accounts have been frozen. We urge fans, partners, and the general public to disregard this fabricated story.” The singer's management also declared their intention to pursue legal action against the individuals or entities responsible for propagating the fake report, reaffirming that Kizz Daniel remains steadfastly focused on his music career and upcoming performances.
The team underscored that this incident is not an isolated one, noting that the singer has been the target of false rumors on previous occasions. His management emphasized that such distractions will not deter him from his commitment to delivering high-quality music to his global fanbase. They specifically recalled a past controversy involving the promoter of 'Afrobeats Meets Berlin 2022'. In that instance, the promoter actively exploited Kizz Daniel’s name, image, and likeness, alongside those of other prominent artists, to aggressively sell tickets and generate hype for a festival that ultimately failed to materialize.
Kizz Daniel's team reiterated that the artist was prepared and ready to perform for the 'Afrobeats Meets Berlin 2022' event, but it was the promoter who "failed to uphold his own obligations." Adding to the previous details, it was highlighted that all traces of the event have since mysteriously vanished from the internet, with social media pages deactivated and no accountability or explanation provided. The team questioned whether the promoter owes fans, ticket buyers, and the artists involved an explanation for exploiting their brand power only to disappear when delivery was expected. It was made clear that until these critical questions are addressed, the responsibility for the failure unequivocally rests with the promoter, not with the artists who were prepared to fulfill their commitments.
