Adhiambo, a mother of five; three girls and two sons, was living in a single-roomed mud house for years and were worried that one day they could wake up immersed in water.
The 56-year-old widow and her children were living in their tiny house and would cover it with polythene sheets whenever it rained.
The single mother, who is part of the Kakumu Widows' Group from North Seme, highlighted her plight during a meeting with the Widows Empowerment Programme (WEP) team.
After accessing her house, Victor Ayugi, the coordinator of WEP, told that PS Raymond Omollo asked the team to build the widow a new house.
"Adhiambo's house was in a dilapidated state and she could be rained on at times whenever it rained," he told .
The team handed over the new semi-permanent house to Adhiambo on Sunday, April 6.
The mother of five was all smiles as she posed for photos with the Widows Empowerment Programme members after handing over the house to her.
Ayugi revealed the widow was overjoyed and expressed her gratitude to the Interior Principal Secretary.
"She was over the moon. She was elated and pleased," he said.

Through his Widows Empowerment Programme, Omollo has been able to build several houses for widows in the Nyzanza region and empower many.
Recently, Ayugi told that WEP is targeting more counties across the country and plans to construct more houses and empower widows.
Previously, PS Omollo came to the rescue of reggae celebrity Ras Bhingi.
The short-statured man had been struggling to pay KSh 2,500 rent in Thika and was almost being evicted.
The PS, through his empowerment programme, cleared Bhingi's two months' rent arrears and even moved him to a better apartment in Ruiru and paid his one year's rent.
A few months later, Bhingi abandoned the one-bedroom apartment and relocated to Mathare slums, citing lack of job opportunities in Ruiru. He also shared that getting food was a challenge, asking the PS for a job so as to fend for himself.
