Mama Meresa Amollo Onyonge had been living in a dilapidated house since the unfortunate demise of her husband.
Her life changed drastically as she barely received any help from her family members, who had abandoned her.
However, her sorrow turned into dancing, and her distress into joy, after receiving a special gift.
She was blessed with a beautiful house, courtesy of the Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, Raymond Omollo.
"While shedding tears of joy, she appreciated the PS for the heartwarming gesture to restore her dignity in the community. She also thanked President William Samoei Ruto for considering her and giving her a new house," a source told .
A celebration was held as the 75-year-old granny moved into her brand-new house, with several people showing up.
A priest was present to dedicate the house before the villagers and other guests who attended the wonderful occasion.
They were all smiles as they witnessed the heartwarming moment when the mother of eight was gifted a new shelter.
They prayed earnestly and fervently, uttering words of blessing and prosperity over the new home.
After entering the house and taking a seat, Onyonge was seen holding a handkerchief, wiping away her tears.
She was overwhelmed by emotion as she recalled the old house she had lived in — one that was nearly uninhabitable.
The guests stood behind her, watching the touching moment as Onyonge became a proud homeowner.
Her previous house had cracks all over the walls, which posed a threat to her life.
It was a fresh start for the widow, who had also lost a child and is a member of the Odeso Strong Widows group.

In another story, PS Omollo was again in the spotlight for his compassionate work towards another widow.
An elderly woman from Kibiri ward, Karachuonyo constituency, Homa Bay county, was elated to receive a new house.
Risper Ogaye Nyakal could not hold back her emotions as she moved into her new home, courtesy of Omollo.
The 80-year-old had been living in an old, rusty house after tragically losing the love of her life.
She was gifted a fully furnished house and was over the moon as she moved in after a celebratory house opening.
Ogaye was captured sniffing the new bedding she received from the PS, along with a new mattress and a set of pillows.
The devout woman immediately broke into prayer, thanking her Maker for seeing her through and honoring her with such a wonderful gift.
