SJ Suryah who has now become a sought-after actor now, thanks to his eccentric one-off performances, had been constantly asked one question wherever he went to. When he would be returning to direction. It was recently when he confirmed that he will be back to helming films with upcoming project titled Killer. On Monday, the actor-filmmaker announced that he will be collaborating with AR Rahman.

The director after making a handful of films, became busy as an actor and went on to star in hit films like Maanaadu, Mark Antony and Jigarthanda DoubleX to name a few. He last film as director was in 2015 Isai. However, ever since then, SJ Suryah was bombarded when he would make a comeback to direction. Recently he announced that he is working on helming a film titled Killer.

On Monday, he announced that the music composer for Killer will be AR Rahman, who had also scored for Suryah’s films like Anbe Aaruyire and New. Welcoming Rahman, Suryah wrote, “Yah it’s none other than OUR ISAI PUYAL, THE MUSICAL LEGEND, INDIAN PRIDE, OUR ONE N ONLY.”

Touted to be a romantic thriller, the film will be produced by Malayalam production banner Sree Gokulam Movies. Suryah will serve as co-producer under his banner Angel Studios. He will be starring in the lead role besides directing and writing the film.

Speaking about the film, he had said that it will be a "James Bond" kind of film with elements of Kushi. With the film under production, the release date of Killer is yet to be announced. Preethi Asrani will play the female lead in the film, with the rest of the cast to be announced later.
