The Nairobi-bound bus was carrying passengers when it crashed, leaving several injured. Authorities have yet to confirm the exact number of casualties.
This latest incident adds to a troubling pattern involving Climax Coach. Just a week ago, another bus from the company was involved in a head-on collision with a long-distance truck on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
Earlier this year, on February 17, a Climax Coach bus crashed near Awasi in Kisumu county, also resulting in multiple injuries.
The repeated accidents have sparked outrage from the public and raised serious questions about the company’s safety standards.
The Motorists Association of Kenya has called for urgent action, including a comprehensive review of Climax Coach operations and stricter enforcement of road safety regulations across the board.
The association further accused the company of overloading both passengers and cargo and urged the authorities to consider revoking the company’s operating license to protect the lives of Kenyan travelers.
"Innocent travelers entrust you with their safety, then you kill and maim them because of arrogance and recklessness," the association said in a statement. "Such repeated safety offenders should be banned. Human life is sacred."

An investigation into the Kimende crash is ongoing as pressure mounts on transport regulators to take decisive action.
Meanwhile, road accidents in Kenya are mainly caused by reckless driving, speeding, drunk driving, and disregard for traffic rules.
Poor road conditions, such as potholes and lack of signage, also contribute, along with overloaded and poorly maintained vehicles.
Weak enforcement of traffic laws and corruption allow unroadworthy vehicles and careless drivers to remain on the roads. Pedestrian negligence and lack of walkways further increase the risk of accidents.
In other news, the Kimende bus crash occurred just hours after another fatal accident in Elburgon, Nakuru county, where twelve people lost their lives in a collision between a lorry and a matatu.
Among the first responders at the Elburgon scene was a distraught man who discovered his wife’s lifeless body during the rescue operation.
She had travelled to Elburgon to attend a funeral and had no idea she would be in the ill-fated matatu.
Another grieving father recounted the heartbreaking moment he learned that his son, who had been sent home from school to collect fees, was among the victims of the tragic crash.
