However, he added that the situation remained “very complex” given the lack of diplomatic recognition of the Houthi regime.“There is a point up to which the Government of India can go and we have reached that point,” he said, cautioning against further public pressure. “Probably we got some kind of an informal communication saying probably the execution is kept under abeyance. The group has not sought government funding and says it will raise the funds independently.The court adjourned the matter to July 18, asking both sides to report on the status of the negotiations.Priya had reportedly killed Mahdi, who she said had confiscated her passport and abused her. Court documents allege she sedated him before dismembering the body with the help of a local woman and disposing of it in a water tank.
