One of the dailies spotlighted the autopsy on the body of the lawmaker and its findings.

Taifa Leo highlighted the autopsy done on the body of slain Kasipul MP Charles Ong'ondo Were.

Chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor presided over the exercise at the Lee Funeral Home in the presence of detectives, forensic experts from DCI's National Forensics Laboratory, family members, legal counsel and members of parliament.

The two-hour autopsy revealed that Ong'ondo was shot five times, with three bullets getting stuck in his body.

According to the chief government pathologist, there were two entry gunshot wounds on the left forearm, where one bullet lodged, and one exited.

There were also two entry bullet wounds on the left side of the chest, with an exit on the right side, but one lodged in the spine.

Then there was a bullet track on the back, with an entry on the left side of the upper back, with the bullet head lodged on the left side.

Oduor further established that the rounds pierced through the heart, the lungs, the liver, and the aorta; the rounds caused multiple internal organ failure.

This came as four murder suspects, William Imoli Shighali, Juma Ali Haikai, Douglas Muchiri Wambugu and David Mihigo Kagame, who are linked to the MP's death, were arraigned at the JKIA Magistrates' Court.

Shighali, Haikai and Kagame were arrested together at Roysambu in Nairobi.

The investigators were granted 30 days to detain the suspects at Ruaraka, Muthaiga, Capitol Hill and Kilimani police stations while investigations into the murder continue.

In court, investigators revealed that they knew the motorcycle used to follow the MP from the parliament building, along Wabera Road and then to the City Mortuary Roundabout, where he was shot and killed.

The newspaper reported on the incident in which President William Ruto was hit with a shoe while addressing a political rally in Migori.

Ruto's security has since been tightened to avert such an occurrence in future.

Meanwhile, police have identified the young man who threw the shoe at the president.

According to a statement released by Kehancha Police Station, the suspect is Paul Mutongori Marwa, an 18-year-old Kuria native hailing from Kuria West Sub-County.

"He is the suspect who was caught on camera throwing a shoe at the President. He was arrested on Sunday evening at the Smile Bar in Kehancha town," the statement said.

Others arrested were Ezron Muhurai Mwita, 22, and Nicholas Sangonyi Mwita, 20, both Kuria natives.

"The two suspects were shouting at the President while he was delivering a speech. The three are from Kuria West, Komasincha and Taranganya counties. They have been detained and are assisting the police in their investigation," the statement added.

The incident is the first security threat to President Ruto since he assumed office on September 13, 2022.

It occurred after the president had attended a special service led by various churches at the Kadika Primary School grounds, Suna East constituency.

Later, accompanied by county leaders led by Governor Ochilo Ayacko, Ruto proceeded to Suna West constituency where he inaugurated the construction of the Piny Oyie Technical Training College.

All these activities proceeded peacefully, where the head of state addressed the people, explaining the plans and projects that his government is implementing in the respective areas.

Among the projects are the construction of modern markets, the connection of electricity to rural areas and the construction of necessary infrastructure on the shores of Lake Victoria to benefit fishermen.

The drama struck the last phase of his visit, that day, in Kuria West.

A large crowd of people crowded close to the president’s podium when he was speaking, and then suddenly, the shoe was thrown at him.

The Standard reported on the bloated team of President William Ruto's advisors draining the taxpayers' money,

Compared with his predecessors, Ruto is known to have had many advisers over two years since he took office.

The president, in less than a year, appointed over 20 advisors on various matters.

The latest entrant is Professor Makau Mutua, who Ruto appointed to counsel him on constitutional matters.

Before Mutua was Raila Odinga's nephew, Jaoko Oburu Odinga, whom the president appointed as his special advisor on economic empowerment..

The newspaper reported on President William Ruto slamming his political detractors.

Speaking in Migori county, the president seemed to direct his tirade to the new opposition that is gathering to challenge him out of office.

Ruto slammed the group led by former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua for lacking an alternative agenda to transform the country.

Reacting to his opponents' declaration that he will be a one-term president, Ruto said the next vote will be decided on the basis of development and not ethnic mobilisation.

"I want to challenge our competitors to begin crafting a real agenda for the country. They must abandon the notion that they can rally support through the politics of hatred, fear, or division. That strategy has no place in the Kenya we are building. These divisive tactics will not define the next election," President Ruto said, underscoring his vision for a more," he said.
