Katsina ADC Ignites Spiritual Campaign for 2027 Elections

The Katsina State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) recently orchestrated a significant event, organizing special prayers over the weekend. This spiritual gathering was intended to implore divine mercy and protection for Nigeria and its diverse citizenry, addressing the myriad challenges currently afflicting the nation. The initiative was spearheaded by the party’s State House of Assembly Aspirants/Candidates Forum and took place at the Sen. Ahmad Babba Kaita Gubernatorial Campaign Office, situated in the capital city of Katsina.

Hon. Abdurrazak Kaita, who chairs the forum, delivered a welcome address, elucidating the rationale behind the event. He highlighted that the forum extended invitations to esteemed Islamic scholars, individuals who have memorized the Holy Qur’an and share deep concerns regarding the multi-sectoral suffering prevalent among Nigerians. The primary objective was for these scholars to recite the Holy Book from beginning to end, with the explicit intention of earnestly supplicating Allah to provide aid and solace to both the citizens and the nation grappling with various hardships.

The comprehensive Qur’anic recitations commenced in the early hours of Saturday, extending throughout the day until approximately 5:30 PM. As the day progressed, a broad spectrum of citizens, representing diverse backgrounds and transcending political affiliations, joined the solemn prayer session, underscoring a collective yearning for divine intervention. Hon. Kaita further disclosed that specific prayers were fervently offered against pervasive societal ills, including corruption, armed banditry, and all those perpetrating these acts, as well as against kidnapping, widespread poverty, and the challenge of ineffective leaders and leadership across the entire country.

Also speaking at the event, Abubakar Ahmed, the spokesman for Sen. Ahmad Babba Kaita’s Gubernatorial campaign, expressed profound appreciation for the organizers' concern and proactive initiative. He offered prayers that Allah would accept their heartfelt calls and grant enduring solutions to the hardships confronting Nigerians. Ahmed also provided an update on his principal, Sen. Ahmad Babba Kaita, revealing that the Senator has successfully recovered from a recent illness after undergoing surgery abroad. Consequently, Sen. Kaita is now anticipated to return to Nigeria shortly to fully resume his political activities in preparation for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
