Katie Price's Heart-Wrenching Cancer Scare Amid Baby Hopes

Katie Price is reportedly in a "terrified" and "fragile place" as she undergoes medical tests amidst concerns that a rare form of soft tissue cancer, which she previously battled, may have returned. These health fears are compounded by her fervent desire to expand her family, as she worries a serious health issue could hinder her plans to have a sixth child.
The mum-of-five was first diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer, in her finger back in 2002 while pregnant with her eldest son, Harvey. During her podcast, "The Katie Price Show," she recounted the experience, stating, "If you look at my finger, there is a hole and a scar, I had it cut out twice... I had to have MRI scans and all of that for six years until I was clear." Now, over two decades later, she is experiencing persistent pain in the same finger, noting, "this is about three weeks ago – I thought, have I knocked it? Because it hurts when I push it, but there’s no lump. And [the pain] still hasn’t gone. So I’m going to get that X-rayed and looked at, so I hope it’s not that again."
Sources close to Price have disclosed her profound anxiety regarding this potential health scare and its implications for her long-held dream of having another baby. "Katie is terrified about her health – she's feeling very worried and anxious. She's fretting that this new lump is another cancer, and it's something she's been through before. She has been desperate to have another baby and it’s worrying knowing that her health isn’t where it needs to be. It’s been a shock for Katie and is really heartbreaking for her," a source revealed.
The 47-year-old television personality has been vocal about her aspiration to become a mum for the sixth time. This commitment saw her undergo a round of IVF in 2023 while dating ex-boyfriend Carl Woods, a procedure that, unfortunately, did not succeed. Despite this setback, Price remains determined. Just last week, during the premiere of her new candid tour with Kerry Katona, she confirmed ongoing efforts to conceive. She explained, "I’m going through it... I had a blood test – I still want more kids – but my eggs are f***** now, to cut a long story short. It happens to all of us." However, she quickly added a hopeful note: "Just because your eggs are old and they won’t really give you a baby, I can still carry a baby, so there’s still ways that I can have babies, and I will have more," affirming her resolve, even though she is already a mother to Harvey (23), Junior (20), Princess (18), Jett (12), and Bunny (11).
Price, who has been with her current boyfriend JJ Slater (33) for nearly two years, has previously discussed her family expansion plans. Earlier this year, on Paul C. Brunson's "We Need To Talk" podcast, she mentioned being "ready" to try again after securing donor eggs. She further clarified her situation: "Because I’m pre-menopause at the moment, I thought you can’t have kids, but you can! I’ve been tested, I’m all fine, I can still carry babies. So I have got the eggs there, I’ve got everything set up ready for when I want it."
According to sources, Katie is prepared to explore all avenues to have another child. "Katie has always wanted more kids, it’s her dream. Having children around is her safety blanket and it’s something she’s desperate for. She’s looked at all the options when it comes to IVF, surrogacy and even adoption, but whether it’s really going to be an option or not is another thing. Her family aren’t sure she’s in the right place for it," they commented.
Adding to her health concerns and a recent public dispute with ex-husband Peter Andre, Katie's noticeable weight loss has also become a source of worry for her loved ones. During a podcast with her younger sister Sophie, Katie revealed her weight was 7st 12lb, prompting Sophie to share their mother's concern: "Mum called me the other day and said I’m going to have a word with Kate because she’s too thin. I think Mum saw a picture on Instagram and she wasn’t happy." While Price initially stated she "liked" her slimmer physique, she has recently admitted to undergoing blood tests to understand the cause of her dramatic weight drop over the past year, which has left her feeling "extremely tired" with "no energy." The source further iterated, "Her whole family is extremely worried about her health, especially with the recent weight loss. They feel like she’s in a fragile place."
These personal challenges come weeks after an unexpected career high, with her 2017 single "I Got U" climbing to number one on the UK iTunes charts. However, Price expresses apprehension, viewing her success as a potential "foreboding omen." She stated, "Normally in my life something good happens and then something bad happens. This better not be my bad news, and I get bad results. Let’s hope it’s nothing bad."
