Karl-Anthony Towns seems to be getting a kick out of some of the latest rumors surrounding the New York Knicks’ search for a new head coach.

A report on Saturday claimed the Knicks have reached out to longtime South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley about their head coach vacancy. That led to a fan sharing a video of Staley dropping an F-bomb in frustration and captioning it “Dawn Staley when KAT picks up his 3rd foul in the first quarter.”

Even Towns laughed at the joke.

Towns is known for getting himself into foul trouble, especially in big games. He has acknowledged that he needs to do a better job of not committing costly fouls away from the basket.

It is unclear if Towns would support the hiring of Staley, but he obviously appreciated the joke.

Staley, a six-time WNBA All-Star, has been the head coach at South Carolina since 2008. She has led the team to seven Final Four appearances and three national championships. The 55-year-old has won four Naismith Coach of the Year Awards and has been inducted into both the Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

There has never been a full-time female head coach in the NBA. The Knicks seem to have another candidate at the top of their list, so the odds do not favor that changing next season despite their interest in Staley.
