Kano's 2027 Battle: Ganduje Faction Vows to Deliver State for Tinubu, Sack NNPP

Critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have convened to strategize for the upcoming 2027 general election, vowing to secure President Bola Tinubu's re-election and reclaim the governorship from the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP). This resolute commitment was declared during a closed-door meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, attended by prominent party leaders and members.
The high-profile gathering was led by the former APC national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje; the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin; and the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Bichi. Key attendees also included the Minister of State for Housing, Abdullahi Atta; Senator Kawu Sumaila; former Governor Kabiru Gaya; Sulaiman Bichi; Hon. Mohammed Garba; and numerous serving and former National and State Assembly members, alongside commissioners and other party officials.
Dr. Ganduje articulated that the primary purpose of the meeting was to review the party's progress and achievements in Kano State, while also reassuring President Tinubu of the unwavering support from the APC chapter in the state. He emphasized that the APC in Kano remains robust and united, despite its inability to retain power in the 2023 general election. Ganduje expressed strong confidence that the party's increasing strength and strategic efforts would lead to the unseating of the NNPP administration in the 2027 polls.
During his address, Ganduje commended President Tinubu's policy reforms, acknowledging his significant contributions to the country, specifically to Kano State, and the strategic appointments made for its citizens. He recalled the close contest of the last election, noting that despite the loss, the party has since consolidated its position.
