Kano Attack Leaves Three Dead as Gunmen Abduct Traditional Leader
Gunmen launched a deadly attack on Chiromawa town in Kano State, resulting in three deaths, five injuries, and the abduction of Sarkin Noma, Alhaji Yusuf Chiromawa. Gunmen have attacked Chiromawa town in Garun Malam Local Government Area of Kano State, killing three people, injuring five others, and abducting a prominent traditional title holder, Sarkin Noma Alhaji Yusuf Chiromawa.
The attack occurred at about 11 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, with the assailants reportedly heading directly to the traditional leader’s residence before opening fire. The incident was confirmed by Garun Malam Local Government Chairman Aminu Salisu Kadawa, who said the injured victims were receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Security personnel have been deployed to the area to track the attackers and secure the release of the abducted traditional leader. Kadawa also visited the hospital with council officials and remained there overnight to monitor the condition of the injured victims and ensure they received adequate care.
The attack has heightened concerns over security in the community, with authorities urging residents to remain calm and provide security agencies with information that could assist the investigation and rescue operation.
The Kano State Government has pledged to strengthen security measures across the area to prevent further attacks and restore confidence among residents. Kadawa appealed to the people of Chiromawa to remain calm and prayerful while cooperating with security agencies.
For now, the immediate priorities remain securing the abducted traditional leader, apprehending those responsible, and preventing another attack on the community.
