Jonathan's Comeback Warning: Keyamo Recalls 2015 Loss Amid PDP Ticket Buzz

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has publicly urged former President Goodluck Jonathan to disavow reports that link him to an alleged presidential ticket being promoted by a political group. Keyamo described this development as a "bizarre comedy" on his X account, strongly criticizing those behind the alleged move for attempting to involve the former president in what he termed a political charade. He found it inappropriate for individuals, who are not recognized as legitimate political actors, to purportedly offer a presidential ticket to Jonathan by proxy.
Keyamo expressed his disbelief, stating, "This is some kind of bizarre comedy taken too far by supposedly grown adults and some names that were actually in the corridors of power at some point in this country." He questioned the credibility of the involved parties, highlighting that they are not even registered political actors with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He condemned their audacity in "dragging such a revered figure into their charade that is certainly a journey to nowhere. Quite sad."
The minister implored Jonathan to clarify his position immediately to prevent any misunderstandings about his involvement. Keyamo stated, "For the sake of his global image, President Goodluck Jonathan must immediately issue a strong ‘No, thank you’ statement." He warned that a failure to do so could lead to a resurgence of public discussions about Jonathan’s past administration and the circumstances surrounding his defeat in the 2015 presidential election, invoking memories of the "clueless" campaign that led to him being the first sitting president to be ousted.
These comments come amidst increasing speculation regarding Jonathan’s political future, fueled by reports of a group seeking to persuade the former president to launch a new presidential bid. As of the time of this report, Jonathan has not yet publicly responded to Keyamo's call or addressed the reports linking him to the alleged presidential ticket.
