According to a recent report by ICICI Direct Research, mutual funds actively adjusted their portfolios in March, increasing their holdings in several prominent large-cap stocks. This analysis delves into the top 10 large-cap stocks that witnessed significant buying activity by mutual funds during the month.

Top Large-Cap Stocks Bought by Mutual Funds in March

Adani Green Energy: Fund houses substantially increased their stake in Adani Green Energy, holding 164 lakh shares in March, a notable rise from 76 lakh shares in February. The total market value of these holdings reached Rs 1,553 crore.

Bajaj Housing Finance: Mutual funds also showed strong interest in Bajaj Housing Finance, with holdings rising to 363 lakh shares in March from 237 lakh shares in February. The total market value of these shares was valued at Rs 447 crore.

Holdings in this company increased to 78 lakh shares in March, up from 59 lakh shares in February, with a total market value of Rs 363 crore.

Adani Energy Solutions: Fund houses increased their positions in Adani Energy Solutions, holding 293 lakh shares in March compared to 239 lakh shares in February. The total market value of these holdings reached Rs 2,553 crore.

Jio Financial Services: There was a significant increase in holdings of Jio Financial Services, with fund houses holding 4,215 lakh shares in March, up from 3,530 lakh shares in February. The total market value of these holdings stood at Rs 9,589 crore.

Holdings in this entity rose to 1,295 lakh shares in March from 1,097 lakh shares in February, resulting in a total market value of Rs 4,275 crore.

Tata Consumer Products: Mutual funds also increased their investment in Tata Consumer Products, holding 946 lakh shares in March, up from 832 lakh shares in February. The total market value of these holdings was Rs 9,479 crore.

Holdings in this company rose to 95 lakh shares in March from 88 lakh shares in February, with a total market value of Rs 5,284 crore.

Fund houses increased their holdings to 868 lakh shares in March from 804 lakh shares in February. The market value of these shares was Rs 17,429 crore.

Fund houses held 18,765 lakh shares in March, up from 17,403 lakh shares in February. The total market value was Rs 37,846 crore.
