Ja Morant's Comeback Delayed: Grizzlies Star Out for Two More Weeks!

Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant will miss at least two more weeks as he continues his recovery from a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow, an injury sustained on January 21. The team announced on Wednesday that while the two-time All-Star is making progress in his rehabilitation, he is still experiencing discomfort. Morant, who is 26 years old, will undergo another re-evaluation in two weeks to assess his condition. This season, he has only appeared in 20 games for the Grizzlies, averaging 19.5 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per contest.

In other team news, Grizzlies officials also confirmed that guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will undergo surgery on Thursday. The procedure aims to address a misalignment in his right pinky finger. A precise recovery timeline for the 33-year-old Caldwell-Pope will be provided following the completion of his surgery. He has played in 51 games this season, contributing averages of 8.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.5 rebounds.

Despite various trade rumors circulating over the past month concerning Morant, the Grizzlies ultimately opted to retain him past the trade deadline. Instead, the franchise made a significant move by trading two-time All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz.
