She joined David Guetta's set without prior warning, a fitting surprise given their recent high-energy dance collaboration, "Save Me Tonight." Lopez's appearance also coincided with a rare period of free time for her, having just concluded her "Up All Night Live in Las Vegas" residency on March 28.

Lopez captivated fans as she took the stage in a shimmering silver high-cut bodysuit, initially covered by a vibrant feathery green jacket which she quickly discarded. The singer-actress chronicled her exciting night in a 90-second Instagram video, opening with her arrival via private plane in a quintessential Coachella ensemble: stacked leather boots, a leather cowboy hat, a white feathery jacket, a long, flowery boho skirt, and a fringed leather purse. After posing on the jetway, the video cuts to a smiling Lopez backstage as Guetta introduced her to the crowd, "I invited a friend! … Make some noise for Jennifer Lopez!" The sequence then shifts rapidly from Lopez awaiting her cue to a quick change into her glittery stage attire, an SUV ride to the venue, and her iconic, windblown entrance for the song's first live performance.

The crowd erupted as Lopez sang, "Don’t know if it lasts forever, but it’s now or never," with phones illuminating the air to capture the moment. She continued with the infectious chorus, "You could sa-a-a-ve me tonight/ Don’t know where your touch could take me, but it feels like maybe/ You could sa-a-a-ve me tonight." At one point, Lopez ascended a platform near Guetta’s decks before dropping in front of it to whip her hair alongside dancers adorned in electric blue leotards. Lopez later captioned her post, "The most fun day!! ‘Save Me Tonight’ with David live for the first time at MY FIRST COACHELLA was so special. My happy era is rewriting everything. Don’t ever stop surprising yourself 🤍." Guetta also celebrated the occasion by sharing a highlight reel from his Quasar Stage set, featuring footage of Lopez performing and embracing him, cued to his 2010 collaboration with Kid Cudi, "Memories."

"Save Me Tonight," released on March 6 via What a DJ/Warner Records, marks Lopez’s first collaboration with Guetta. It debuted at No. 18 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and No. 38 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, following her 2023 release "Kiss of the Spider-Woman soundtrack" and 2024's "This Is Me … Now."

The Kid LAROI also saw Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker hop on the kit for "Chains & Whips" and "P.O.V." during the Clipse’s set. Camila Cabello popped out for "Havana" with Young Thug, and The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan dueted with sombr on his band’s "1979." Additionally, Teddy Swims achieved a trifecta with surprise guests Joe Jonas ("When You Look Me In the Eyes"), Vanessa Carlton ("A Thousand Miles"), and former Van Halen singer David Lee Roth ("Jump"). KATSEYE were joined by the voices of Kpop Demon Hunters — EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami — for an amplified version of "Golden," and Sabrina Carpenter’s set featured cameos from Will Ferrell, Sam Elliott, Susan Sarandon, and her former "Girl Meets World" cast mate Corey Fogelmanis, among numerous other unexpected delights throughout the weekend.
